If you like flowers, then you're in the right place. The island boasts a wide variety of groomed gardens and parks with great attention, growing flowers, plants and trees such a great beauty, that Madeira was awarded eight years ago with "European Flowering
City 2000." Visit a few such gardens: Botanic Garden, the Garden Orchids, Public Gardens, St. Louise Park, St. Catarina, Sao Vicente garden of native plants, etc..
On the island you can find places of worship with a few hundred years old: Igreja de Sao Joao Evangelista (1624), Igreja de Sao Pedro (about 1600), Igreja Paroquial of Machico (about 1425-1499), da Boa lifelong Chapel (1655 ), etc.. Churches and chapels in
